It’s a short 4 hour drive from Nairobi city to the land of ‘jumbos’, the Amboseli National Park – think mighty Mt. Kilimanjaro and majestic herds of elephants. This park lies at the foot of Africa’s tallest mountain and the largest free-standing mountain in the world. Its famous form watches over the park and all its wildlife – four of the “Big Five” are found here.
There’s plenty of reasons Amboseli is such a popular park – we’ve already mentioned the photographic presence of Kilimanjaro, but did you know that this park may be the best place in Africa, if not the world for viewing free-ranging elephants? The light terrain of the park combined with the great numbers of elephants here guarantees you will see them as they parade in their imposing herds.
But just as impressive are the park’s other big game like buffalo, lion, cheetah, zebra and gazelle. Amboseli is a busy place and you’ll be checking off plenty of wildlife on your list. The park offers several wildlife environments, each with its own array of animals.
Early pick up from your hotel in Nairobi, and eave for Amboseli National Park via the Nairobi Mombasa Highway where you will arrive in time for lunch and afternoon game run till 18:00hr. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Wildebeest to Giraffes to Baboons.

This morning we rise early for good views of Mount Kilimanjaro before clouds build up over the summit, we set off for a game drive. Amboseli is an excellent place to view a multitude of wildlife, including everything from Wildebeest to Giraffes to Baboons. A visit to a Masai village is planned after breakfast. Midday finds us at our lodge for lunch and afternoon rest, followed by another game drive.
Amboseli is home to the legendary Masai tribesmen. Masai warriors are famous and are proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and single handed acts of bravery in fights with the wild animals are known across the world.
